FILTER Fans Help RICHARD PATRICK's Sister Raise Money For Charity
March 29, 2006ARMY OF ANYONE/FILTER frontman Richard Patrick has posted the following message on the FILTER web site:
"I'd like to congratulate my sister Cheri for completing her first marathon this past weekend. She ran the 2006 Los Angeles Marathon as a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's team in training. Although she was feeling under the weather, she continued on and completed the 26.2-mile race in 5 hours and 29 minutes. She was 10,654th out of 25,000 people, and came in 3,033rd out of all women.
"I'm proud to report that many of you here at the FILTER website were very generous in helping Cheri raise money for a good 'cause, and for that I am grateful! My sister would also like to thank each of you personally: 'Thanks FILTER FANS — YOU ROCK!!!!! With your help, I was able to raise $4,090. Thanks so much for your donation and support!!!"
Patrick recently told Launch Radio Networks that FILTER could resurface at some point, but he's concentrating all his efforts now on ARMY OF ANYONE, his new project with former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS bassist Robert DeLeo and guitarist Dean DeLeo. Patrick told Launch that while FILTER may not be finished, he needed to take an extended break. "It just turned into a situation where it was like, you know, God, I really want something new with my life," he said. "You know, so, I put out three FILTER albums which I'm really proud of, and that's — I don't consider FILTER necessarily an end, but this is definitely a beginning, and this is my priority, and this is where my heart is, and, you know, this is where it's at for me."
ARMY OF ANYONE is currently working on its self-titled debut album, which the group expects to release in June. The band is filled out by former DAVID LEE ROTH drummer Ray Luzier.
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS officially disbanded in 2003, when lead singer Scott Weiland joined VELVET REVOLVER.
